Brooksby Medical was founded by Dr James Coleman, a practising GP, to give you something most private blood testing services don't: a doctor who actually sits down with your results, connects the dots, and writes you a report that makes sense.
Why I started Brooksby Medical
I'm Dr James Coleman. I work as a GP, and I've spent years watching patients fall through the cracks of a system that's stretched too thin.

Patients would come to me worried about fatigue, or their cholesterol, or whether something they'd read about online actually applied to them. The honest answer was often: I'd love to run those tests for you, but we don't have the capacity right now. Or the turnaround is weeks. Or the panel we can offer doesn't go deep enough.

So people turned to private blood testing companies. And what they got back was a spreadsheet of numbers with a traffic-light system. Green, amber, red. No context. No clinical judgement. No one explaining what the numbers actually mean together.
I built Brooksby because I believe everyone deserves a doctor's opinion on their blood results, not just a set of reference ranges.
That's the gap Brooksby Medical fills. When you order a blood test through us, I personally review your results. Not an algorithm. Not a templated paragraph. Me, sitting at my desk, looking at your numbers the same way I would for any patient in my consulting room. Then I write you a report explaining what I see, what it might mean, and what I'd suggest you do next.
What makes Brooksby different
Every report written by a GP
Your results aren't processed by software and stamped with a logo. I read every single set of results myself and write you a personalised report. I look at how your markers relate to each other, flag patterns that automated systems miss, and give you clear, practical next steps.
Beyond the traffic lights
A green tick doesn't always mean everything's fine, and a red flag doesn't always mean something's wrong. Your Brooksby report explains the clinical context behind each result. I use current evidence and guidelines to interpret your numbers, not just compare them to a reference range.

Every report includes practical next-step guidance. Whether that's a specific follow-up test, a conversation to have with your own GP, or a lifestyle change backed by evidence. No vague wellness advice. Just clear, honest recommendations from a doctor.

Brooksby Medical is a registered healthcare provider, not a wellness brand. We're held to the same standards as any medical practice in the UK.
CQC Registered
Registered with the Care Quality Commission for Diagnostic and Screening Procedures. Assessed for safety, clinical governance, and quality of care before being allowed to operate.
UKAS-accredited laboratory
Samples analysed by a UKAS-accredited laboratory using the same equipment and protocols as hospitals. Results are clinically validated before reaching me for interpretation.
Your data is protected
All patient data encrypted with AES-256, the same standard used by banks. A dedicated Data Protection Officer oversees UK GDPR compliance. Your information is never shared with third parties.
Professional blood collection
We offer both fingerprick home kits and venous blood collection through partner clinics, qualified home-visit phlebotomists, or your own arranged blood draw. Venous samples give the widest testing range and most reliable results.
