Menopause Hormone Blood Test
Are symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, or hot flushes affecting your daily life? Distinguishing between perimenopause and thyroid issues can be difficult. This profile measures key female hormones (FSH, LH, Oestradiol) alongside thyroid function to clarify what's happening inside your body so you can take the right next steps.

Common questions
Everything you need to know before ordering your Menopause Hormone Blood Test.
What does this test measure?
This profile checks 5 key markers: FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), LH (luteinising hormone), oestradiol, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) and free T4. It covers both reproductive hormones and thyroid function because the two are commonly confused.
Why does this test include thyroid markers?
Thyroid dysfunction causes symptoms that closely mimic perimenopause: fatigue, weight changes, mood shifts, brain fog and irregular periods. Including TSH and FT4 helps distinguish between the two, avoiding months of guesswork.
When should I take this test?
If you are still having periods, test on day 2 to 5 of your menstrual cycle for the most informative hormone readings. If your periods are irregular or have stopped, you can test at any time.
Do I need to fast?
No fasting is required. Morning testing (before 10 AM) is preferred for the most stable thyroid readings. Avoid biotin supplements for 48 hours before testing.
How will I receive my results?
Secure online results with a GP-written explanation from Brooksby Medical in 2 to 3 working days.
